How a strong vision, a bag of cement, and 5,000 DKK turned into international recognition and commercial success.

From humble beginnings, Eberhart Furniture has grown into a recognised name within the furniture landscape - both in Denmark and internationally. With more than 10 years in the industry , the company has captured the hearts of many with a collection that balances aesthetics, functionality and durability. Their furniture has graced the covers of interior magazines, while their commercial achievements have earned widespread recognition.

A journey rooted in vision and passion

Eberhart Furniture was founded in 2014 by Esben Christoffersen and Rune Vigil Nielsen with a modest personal investment of 5,000 DKK, a bag of cement, and a strong shared vision. That vision extended beyond furniture alone - it was about creating a way of life where family, work and play could exist in true harmony.

After countless hours at the drawing board, the first designs came to life, and customer interest followed swiftly. In the early days, production took place in a small basement on Nørrebro in Copenhagen, combined with an old, worn beet storage room on Esben’s family farm on South Funen. It didn’t take long before the two founders realised they needed more space to support their growing venture.

At some point, it was clear that traditional farming was no longer the future. At the same time, I had a deep desire for the farm to continue existing.”

Returning to the roots

As a result, Eberhart chose to transform the farm - which has been in Esben Christoffersen’s family for seven generations - from traditional agriculture into furniture production. Surrounded by the idyllic landscape of South Funen, every piece of furniture is now conceived, crafted, cared for and packed on this very site. Reflecting on the transformation of the ancestral farm, Esben Christoffersen explains:

“At one point, it no longer made sense to continue farming. At the same time, I wanted the farm to live on. Fortunately, we found a way to repurpose the old buildings and allow them to serve new functions in a new era. There is also a degree of circular sustainability in that, which I appreciate - and which reflects the values we want to stand for.”

Today, the old family farm, Helenehøj, serves as Eberhart Furniture’s design studio, production facility and warehouse.
